CAMPBELL (Red)

This house is named after Joseph John Campbell (March 26, 1904 -October 30, 1987) was an American mythologist, writer and lecturer, best known for his work in comparative mythology and comparative religion. His work is vast, covering many aspects of the human experience. His philosophy is often summarized by his phrase: “Follow your bliss”

BISHOP (Yellow)

Wordsworth house is named after William Wordsworth (7 April 1770 – 23 April 1850) was a major English Romantic poet who, with Samuel Taylor Coleridge, helped to launch the Romantic Age in English literature with the 1798 joint publication Lyrical Ballads.

Gibson House is named in honor of Agnes Smith Lewis and Margaret Dunlop Gibson, twin sisters and renowned Semitic scholars. Masters of over 12 languages, they made significant academic contributions and were major benefactors of the Presbyterian Church of England, particularly Westminster College, Cambridge.

Bishop House is named after Barry Chapman Bishop, an American mountaineer, scientist, photographer, and scholar. He was part of the first American team to summit Mount Everest in 1963 and dedicated much of his life to the National Geographic Society as a writer, photographer, and scientist.
